Ironically I have my italian exam on Monday! So I decided I better stop procrastinating with cycling and get a move on with my study. It’s my final year 12 exam so I have to do put some effort in! Sorry that I won’t be posting until Monday. Enjoy the next few days of the Giro and check back Monday evening.

That was such a superb finish by Orica-GreenEDGE, forming a train quickly, getting to the front and delivered Matthew Goss over the line! His reign of second places has finally ended…. Bad luck for Cavendish and Phinney just near the finish line where Ferrari pulled out and knocked Cav’s front wheel. His team apologized to him and the other riders. Phinney was put in an ambulance but it is believed he can keep La Maglia Rosa and has stepped on the podium!

There was an exciting finish at the end of the 206km flat race! Mark Cavendish was unstoppable and won the stage and Matthew Goss received another 2nd place (coming 2nd five times in the last ten days). Third place went to Geoffery Soupe. Taylor Phinney holds onto La Maglia Rosa but he nearly lost it when his chain fell off with 8km to go! The gap was 30 seconds but three BMC riders dropped back to help him and they got back to the peloton. Taylor is the youngest rider ever to hold La Maglia Rosa at this particular stage before! Also at the last corner there was a crash involving a few riders, no news of any serious injury!
